The Nitpicker's Guide To T-Bag (Mistakes and Goofs you may not have noticed)

Back to: Home page | Trivia Index

Welcome to the Nitpicker's Guide to T-Bag.

These are all the mistakes I and other people from The T-Bag Forum and Jeremy's The T-Room website etc have noticed.

If there are any mistakes (with costumes, props, dialogue, continuity errors etc) you have noticed please e-mail me or post a message on the forum The T-Bag Forum 'Mistakes You have noticed post'

I have compiled these mistakes. Hope you enjoy reading about them!

Although the mistakes are easier to spot now we are all many years older (and in some cases wiser) it is fun to look back and see how they got away with it. Although the T-Bag series had these little imperfections they never detracted from the enjoyment this show brought to our smiley and laughing faces then and now!

Many thanks to Jeremy, Benji, Russell, Paul, Rob, members of The T-Bag Forum, posters on The T-Room Message Board and everybody else who have all found and contributed these mistakes to this nitpicker's guide. Without you this guide would be far less complete. Please keep those mistakes coming...

When I started this guide in October/November 2003 there was 12 mistakes and now there are over 100 but there must still be more undiscovered mistakes, keep your eyes and ears peeled.

I've rated all the mistakes out of ten to let you know how difficult it is to spot them (this ranking is made up of the difficulty spotting it before and after you know about it - you'll be looking for them after reading about them but you might not have noticed them normally).

Each mistake has an 'introduction info box' above it, giving details of who contributed it, the difficulty of noticing it and the type of the mistake (either Anachronism, Continuity, Crew/Equipment visible, Factual errors or Miscellaneous)

The types of mistakes are listed below:
Anachronism: something historically inaccurate (an item or expression out of time)
Continuity error: Something that contradicts with a previously established event in an episode, current or previous series.
Factual error: Something that contradicts an established fact in real life.
Miscellaneous error: Any other mistake that can not be classified into any other category.
Production error: A mistake made relating to a prop, scenery, special effect, costume, credits, dialogue etc.
Recording error: Something (i.e. Crew or recording Equipment) is visible on the recording that should not have been in shot.

You can now click on all of the images for a larger version with the mistake (boom-mic etc) circled.

Wonders In Letterland/Trouble With T-Bag

EPISODE 2: DEBBIE IN THE LAND OF B

"Shiny Stars"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:
Continuity error
The stars on T-Bag's dress have changed since the first episode. In episode one the stars seem to be made from a shiny flat material, from episode two to the end of the series the stars seem to have been replaced by sequin applique stars. The change must have happened inbetween filming of episode one (10.1.1985) and episode two (18.1.1985).

"Wide awake, wrong direction"
Contributed by: me
Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:
Continuity error
Towards the end of the episode, after stopping the Gardener playing the flute, T-Bag rests with her head to the right-hand side of her seat but in the next scene when she wakes up she is facing the other way with her head to the left-hand side of the seat.

EPISODE 3: DEBBIE IN THE LAND OF S

"Hook, Line and Sinker"
Contributed by: DVD commentary cast
Difficulty: 5/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When Skipper McKipper is fishing at the start of the episode, when Debbie is watching him he catches his fishing hook onto his trousers but moments later when Debbie helps him it is attached to his jacket.

"Shell Shocked"
Contributed by: DVD commentary cast
Difficulty: 6/10 | Type:
Production error
When Skipper McKipper wipes the mirror before handing it back to Seraphina one of the shells falls off the mirror onto the floor.

EPISODE 4: DEBBIE IN THE LAND OF I

"Eye on the Plank"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 6/10 | Type:
Continuity error
In the cave when T-Bag makes the planks disappear stranding Indiana on the island is an error caused by the 'magic' effect. Just before the planks vanish Indiana is facing to his left but when the planks vanish he is looking to his right where the planks would have been.

The Boom-mic

The Boom-mic

EPISODE 5: DEBBIE IN THE LAND OF P

"Ice-Boom"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Recording error
When the P at the top of the pole is encased in the block of ice by T-Bag, a boom-mic appears slightly left from the centre of the screen.

The Camera Shot

The Camera Shot

EPISODE 6: DEBBIE IN THE LAND OF R

"The Captured Camera"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:
Recording error
In the first T-Square scene, as the picture cuts from the first long shot to a close-up of T-Bag, on the left of the picture, the side of a bulky television camera is clearly visible. After a couple of seconds, the camera is quickly pulled out of shot. What a blunder!

"The Wonders Of Letterland"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 5/10 | Type:
Production error
When Debbie sings her song on board Rascally Roger's ship, the song has not been dubbed correctly so the song is slightly out of sync with Debbie miming.

The Boom-mic

The Boom-mic

"Not in the same boat"
Contributed by: Me
Difficulty: 5/10 | Type:
Production error
After Debbie realises T-Shirt has Roger's treasure map she tells him that 'we'll have to take the rowing boat' back to the shore but why would they need to use the rowing boat when T-Shirt can use his magic to take them straight there?

EPISODE 7: DEBBIE IN THE LAND OF V

"A Kiss is just a Kiss"
Contributed by: Ben
Difficulty: 5/10 | Type:
Continuity error
At the start of the episode, when Debbie tells T-Shirt she is proud of him for being so brave on their quest, she kisses him unflinchingly. Yet later, when Vic tells her she has to kiss T-Shirt to wake him up, she seems quite disgusted by the idea and is reluctant to kiss him.

EPISODE 8: DEBBIE IN THE LAND OF O

"Fife O' Boom"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 10/10 | Type:
Recording error
In the very first shot featuring Fife O'Clock, as he walks over to the clock, a boom-mic bobs in at the very top of the shot (close to the centre, towards the left), then bobs out again. This may be obscured by the black border while playing this scene on a TV but it is in the recording, see the image for the evidence.

The Emporer's Chain

The Emporer's Chain

EPISODE 9: DEBBIE IN THE LAND OF E

"Too Many Golden E's"
Contributed by: Me
Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:
Continuity error
The Emporer's chain has at least nine golden letter E's on it - but there are only seven letter E's missing in the riddle on the chest back in the first square.

"Stiff Upper Lip"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 1/10 | Type:
Production error
A number of times during the episode, including in the first scene and later when Debbie finally succeeds in making the Emperor laugh, Jim Norton's false moustache is reflecting the studio lights.

The Boom-mic

The Boom-mic

"E-Boom"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Recording error
When T-Bag meets the Emporer, there is a boom-mic visible at the top of the screen in the centre between T-Bag and the Emporer after the Emporer says 'Oh I thought you had come to take part in the competition to make me laugh'.

MULTIPLE EPISODES (EPISODES 9 & 10)

"Keeping Up Appearances"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 5/10 | Type:
Continuity error
T-Bag was starting to lose her powers in Episode 9 following T-Shirt's departure, but when she tries to entertain the Emperor her magic powers seem as strong as ever as she makes objects appear. She then makes a perfectly normal appearance to T-Shirt and Debbie at the start of Episode 10 before subsequently losing her powers again.

EPISODE 10: BACK TO SQUARE ONE

"Spliced-Shots"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 10/10 | Type:
Continuity error
Straight after Debbie and T. Bag finish singing 'Ignorance is Bliss', there is a cut from a two-shot of the two actresses to a two-shot of T.Shirt and the Gardener. In the first frame after cutting to T. Shirt and the Gardener, the pair are standing pretty much upright, and in the next frame, The Gardener is slightly hunched over twiddling his thumbs, while the actual shot appears to be slightly higher, the scene then carries on. Going through it frame-by-frame, it seems that when the shot cuts together, an edit has been made where there was possibly two takes spliced together. This one is very difficult to spot, you probably need software with which to watch video frame-by-frame to actually see it.

"Alternate Memories"
Contributed by: me
Difficulty: 2/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When Debbie thinks back on her adventures, she sees Rascally Roger looking at his treasure and Fife O' Clock tending to the clock, these are from scenes Debbie does not appear in so are not from Debbie's perspective, so they can not be her memories.

T-BAG STRIKES AGAIN

T-Bag's sleeve

T-Bag's sleeve

EPISODE 1: THE TOWN CLOCK

"All made up"
Contributed by: Elizabeth Estensen on the DVD commentary
Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:
Continuity error
In the flashback scene when Hickery calls out the time at five o'clock, T-Bag is in the black cloak but she still has her make up on even though she is supposed to be a poor old lady.

"The Dress Mess-Up"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When T-Bag notices Debbie in the saucer and T-Shirt says “It’s Debbie” we can see T-Bag’s hand and part of her sleeve but somehow she is wearing her ‘velvet’ dress (which she doesn’t get until episode 3) instead of her ‘Taffetta’ Wonders In Letterland dress she wears in the first two episodes of this series. This close up shot must have been filmed at a different time with T-Bag in her ‘velvet’ dress.

The Boom-mic The Boom-mic

The Boom-mics

EPISODE 2: ONE, TWO BUCKLE MY SHOE

"Mic-key Take"
Contributed by: Me
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Recording error
Near the end of the episode a microphone appears at the top of the screen as Penelope Plumber comes back into the castle's Kitchen with T-Shirt.
Penelope: Oh, having a party, what fun.
During Penelope saying her line (above) the microphone pops into and then out of shot.

"Boom Town"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Recording error
In the last scene, back in the T-Room, there is an appearance of a microphone at the very top of the screen only for a second or two.
T-Bag: It's all your fault boy, all your fault.
T-Shirt: How is it my fault?
The mic appears now inbetween T-Shirt saying his line and T-Bag starting her line.
T-Bag: Everything's your fault!

EPISODE 3: BEN AND BUNTY BADSHOT

"Realistic Scenery"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:
Production error
When T-Bag goes to hide behind the bushes after she hears Bunty Badshot marching T-Shirt along; after he has been found out as a decoy (left-right-left-right etc) she whirls around and catches her dress on the bush which results in a loud 'twang' (and those bushes were so realistic).

The Boom-mic

The Boom-mic

The numbers

The numbers

EPISODE 4: SCRAP HARRY

"Magic-Boom"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 7/10 | Type:
Recording error
When Debbie first rubs the lamp and The Genie appears, a boom-mic appears above The Genie in a close up-shot of him, just above his head.

EPISODE 5: ALI BARBER

"Missing Numbers"
Contributed by: Me
Difficulty: 7/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When Ali takes Debbie’s silver numbers for payment for her haircut he shakes her bag and one of the numbers falls to the floor instead of into his hands. When we see the numbers close up there is no number 1 or 3!

"Just Dust"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 2/10 | Type:
Production error
When T-Bag shows T-Shirt the teapot he has failed to dust, she blows some of the carefully placed dust off it, before T.Shirt has a chance to himself! This happens when she says 'it must be at least an inch thick'!

The Boom-mic

The Boom-mic

EPISODE 6: DICK GHERKIN

"A description... of a boom-mic"
Contributed by: Me
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Recording error
At the very end of the episode once Debbie has snuck off without T-Bag noticing, just before Clarence asks for a description of the missing person he says 'Right-O mother', at the top-right corner of the screen a boom-mic drops into view.

Back To Front Magic Notes The Puppeteer's Arm

The Puppeteer's Arm

EPISODE 8: PROFESSOR POCKETS

"Hooter's Armfull of Fun (I)"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 7/10 | Type:
Recording error
The Hooter'S puppeteer's arm can be seen when the Professor exchanges the hammer for the binoculars (you can also see the puppeteer's shadow).

"Hooter's Armfull of Fun (II)"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 5/10 | Type:
Recording error
The Hooter's puppeteer's arm can be seen at the end of the episode just after T-Shirt and Debbie say goodbye.

T-Shirt's caps T-Shirt's caps

T-Shirt's caps

EPISODE 9: CHARLIE CHUCKLES

"That's Hat!"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 7/10 | Type:
Production error
Before T-Bag takes T-Shirt’s magic from him, his cap has a golden letter T on plain turquoise fabric but when his powers are removed instead of being plain turquoise where the T was there is a turquoise and black chequered fabric. There were most likely two caps made for filming (one with and one without the golden T) but Raymond Childe (the costume designer) or his assistant didn’t use the same for both caps!

"That's Hat 2!"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 7/10 | Type:
Continuity error
In the scene where T-Shirt loses his magic, the scene starts before he loses his magic but he is already wearing his hat without the 'T' but he is obscuring his T-Shirt with the black and white stripy top so we can't see that it is the one without the T.

"Back-To-Front T-Shirt"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Production error
When T-Shirt and Debbie are watching Charlie Chuckles’ magic tricks, T-Shirt has his T-Shirt on back to front. Look at the seams around his shoulders to spot this mis-dressed mistake – his collar is too close to his neck at the front and too far down at the back!

EPISODE 10: THE MAGIC GARDEN

"The Tenth Story"
Contributed by: me
Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When T-Shirt returns the silver numbers to Debbie and they try to think where the numbers 10, 11 and the one in 12 could be, T-Shirt suggests the 10 would be in the tenth story and so on, Debbie tells him there isn’t a tenth story but there is. The tenth story is ‘The Magic Garden’ where T-Bag lives. Oops!
Debbie: There’s still a few missing, the ten, eleven and a bit of twelve.
T-Shirt: Where will they be?
Debbie: That’s anybody’s guess, I thought I had looked everywhere. Now let’s see, I found the one in the first story, the twos in the second story, a three in the third story…
T-Shirt: Oh it’s simple then, you’ll find the ten in the tenth story, the eleven in the eleventh story.
Debbie: But there isn’t a tenth or eleventh story.

MULTIPLE EPISODES

"Hair-Raising"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 6/10 | Type:
Continuity error
Debbie's Hair changes throughout the series. In Episode 2, her hair is shorter and more groomed than in Episode 1, as the latter was one of the last episodes shot - by the end of the series, her hair is exactly the same as in Episode 1! Maybe Debbie needs another trip to Ali Barber's!

T-BAG BOUNCES BACK

Back To Front Magic Notes

The Reversed Notes

EPISODE 1 THE OUSTING OF MAJOR HAPPY & EPISODE 10 HAPPY ENDING

"Musical Notes"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 2/10 | Type:
Production error
Major Happy’s costume has the musical notes on it back to front. This is mentioned in The T-Room costume section in the Interview with Raymond Childe. In the interview it states the musical notes were stuck on the costume the night before by Raymond Childe's assistant. See the image (to the right) for the offending musical notes (and I don't mean T-Bag singing).

"A Little Light Music"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 1/10 | Type:
Production error
The music notes on Major Happy’s costume are made of the same black reflective material as Jim Norton’s moustache in series 1 episode 9 and have the same problem – reflecting the studio lights when he moves. This is noticeable in scenes in the town square during these episodes.

EPISODE 1 THE OUSTING OF MAJOR HAPPY

"The Bell's Knell"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 5/10 | Type:
Production error
The bells Major Happy plays do not correspond with the sounds they make. When he plays the scale, the large bells play high notes and the small bells play low notes when it should be vice-versa. Also in some places you can hear that the bells are made of plastic because the striking sound was not dubbed correctly.

The Dismembered Hand

The Dismembered Hand

EPISODE 2: NIGHTS OF ARABIA

"The Dismembered Hand"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 10/10 | Type:
Recording error
When T-Shirt is in the T-Room and releases the Genie from the bottle, inbetween the Genie disappearing and T-Bag reappearing there is a dismembered hand at the right-bottom side of the screen.
The Genie: I'll bid you good day, and be on my way. Bye!
T-Bag: Hello I've got the bell and all's well.
This is very tricky to spot as it is only visible for a few frames (blink and you'll miss it). The hand does not belong to Elizabeth Estensen (T-Bag) as it has no nail varnish so is most likely to be one of the cast. See the image right, if you look closely enough you can see three fingers at the side of the image.

"Bottled Magic"
Contributed by: me
Difficulty: 6/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When T-Bag tricks the Genie into the bottle she magics herself back to the T-Room and leaves the bottle on the table. In the next scene when she magics herself to get the bell from Omar and T-Shirt reappears in the T-Room the bottle has gone, the cup and saucer are also separated. The next scene in the T-Room when T-Shirt walks back in the bottle is back and the cup and saucer are together.

"Busy Budgies"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Continuity error
The birdcage in Episode 2, where whenever there is a locked-camera disappearing/reappearing effect (characters disappearing/appearing, the bird(s) can't keep still, so whereas the actors seem not to move, one minute the bird's tail is in the air, the next it's sitting normally!

EPISODE 3: IVAN THE HORRIBLE

"Realistic Scenery (II)"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:
Miscellaneous error
When Ivan is playing ball with Debbie, he throws it outside through the window and it hits one of the bushes which starts to wobble.

EPISODE 4: BLACK HEARTED BELLE

"What’s My Line?"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Miscellaneous error
Near the end of the episode, when T-Bag has been knocked on the head and has forgotten who Debbie is, T-Shirt says: “That’s a laugh, isn’t it, m-Your Majesty?” And like the pros they are, they just carry on. A barely noticeable fluff.

EPISODE 5: BOBBY JOBSWORTH AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM

"Sheet Magic"
Contributed by: me
Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When T-Shirt first goes trick or treating he has the ‘ghost’ sheet screwed up under his arm but when he reappears outside the temple the sheet is folded very neatly – it must have folded itself by magic on the way!

EPISODE 6: HI-HAT

"I Want That Hat"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 6/10 | Type:
Miscellaneous error
When Hi-Hat takes the hat back to T-Bag, Elizabeth Estensen opens the box a little too enthusiastically and drops it. Fortunately - consumate professional that she is - she manages to grab the hat before the box goes completely, and carries on without blinking!

"Headdress Less"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 5/10 | Type:
Miscellaneous error
After the princess drinks the cup of tea that T-Shirt makes her, the door bell rings, the Princess says 'See who that is will you?' and as she says this her headdress falls off!

"The Saucer-er’s Apprentice"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:
Production error
In this and various other episodes this series, the yellow CSO cloth is often visible inside T-Bag’s saucer – i.e. the cloth used to key into it electronically images from other cameras using Colour Separation Overlay, or Chromakey. It’s particularly visible in this episode when T-Shirt uses the saucer – the cloth can be seen as he picks up the saucer from the T-Room table, then there’s a cut to a close-up of the saucer in his hand and the cloth is no longer visible (as an image has been keyed on top).

The Open Door

The Open Door

EPISODE 7: BELL, BOOK AND CANDLE

"It's Curtains For You This Time - Or Not"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:
Miscellaneous error
When King Rufus' dog scratches at the T-Room door and T-Shirt opens it and lets the dog through, he then closes the doors but they fail to shut and you can still see behind the doors for most of the scene.

Boom-mic

The Boom-mic

EPISODE 8: MAX THE MILLER

"Trouble at Mill"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 2/10 | Type:
Production error
The windmill/field of tulips backcloth, though a lovely painting, is rather creased. A number of creases/dirt marks can be seen on the sky just to the left of the windmill. Ah, we never had CGI in them days!

"What’s In A Name?"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 5/10 | Type:
Continuity error
In this episode, T-Shirt discovers for the first time that the “T” in “T-Bag” stands for “Tallulah”. Thinking about it, though, how did he know “Bag” was her surname? Up to now it’s seemed as though “T-Bag” is just an unflattering nickname she obviously hates, and T-Shirt has never called her anything but “Your Majes-tea” (or occasionally, “T-Bag”). So how does he know she’s actually called Bag?

"The Boom Bounces Back"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 7/10 | Type:
Recording error
When T. Shirt meets Winnie de Mille there is another boom-mic that appears at the top of the screen, during this scene the camera cuts from various individual midshots, to a two-shot. When T-Shirt enquires about making a birthday cake and he says 'How much?' the mic stays put for a while before being swiftly hoisted up!

"Bells to go"
Contributed by: Me
Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When Debbie first meets Winnie De Mille, Debbie explains she has only got three more gold bells to find, although she only needs two more (one in this episode and the last in the next episode) as she already has six bells.

Boom-mic The shadow

The shadow and the Boom-mic

EPISODE 9: NIKDIT THE THIEF

"On The Carpet"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 1/10 | Type:
Production error
When Nikdit enters Uncle Jumbo’s lair carrying the carpet over his shoulder, there is fairly obviously nothing concealed inside, and certainly not T-Shirt!

"I have just discovered... a shadow"
Contributed by: Me
Difficulty: 6/10 | Type:
Recording error
After T-Bag has finished gloating to Debbie that she has the last bell Nikdit rushes in and tells Uncle Jumbo that the rug was infested, when he says 'I have just discovered' a shadow from a boom-mic appears on T-Bag's head for a few moments.

"Carpet Boom Blues"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 9/10 | Type:
Recording error
After Nikdit takes the 'infested' carpet from Jumbo's house, there is a close-up of Debbie, as she takes out her hanky. This cuts to a close-up of T-Bag, saying 'serves you right'. For a split second, above here, a boom-mic zooms into shot above Elizabeth Estensen, lined up with her nose, and then out again.

"Into and Out Of Shot"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Recording error
Another boom-mic appears in a mid-shot of Tallulah Bag in Uncle Jumbo's house, just after Debbie has rushed out with the bell - she says something like '... but she needs all the bells to win, and she has one ...' At the top of the screen, something black appears to pop into shot and then is quickly pulled out again - this one's very quick.

"The Spell is Broken"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 5/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When T-Shirt leaves T-Bag and sides with Debbie, what happened to the spell T-Bag cast on him in episode one, causing him to think he hated Debbie? It’s clearly no longer working, but when did it stop?

EPISODE 10: HAPPY ENDING

"Coming or Going?"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:
Production error
When T-Bag sees Debbie and Major Happy putting the frame for the bells back together and transports herself and T-Shirt to the town square, the disappear/reappear sound effects are the opposite way round from normal. It’s the “appear” sound as they vanish from the T-Room and the “disappear” sound as they arrive in the square.

EPISODE 1: SPARKES

"T-Shirt's Troublesome Jumper"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:
Continuity error
After T-Bag hides the crystals in the upcoming programmes and T-Shirt chooses his T-Caddy uniform T-Shirt summons Holly into the T-Room. The view changes between a back view (when he is looking up at the screen) where Holly is on the screen and a front view when Holly is in the T-Room. In the front views he has his T-Caddy uniform on but the back view is him with his normal clothes on, his yellow jumper. This must have been done in several takes but in a different costume.
(T-Shirt has his T-Caddy uniform on in the T-Room -See image above-left)
T-Shirt: Oh I had to open my big mouth about hiding the crystals, what do I do now?
(T-Shirt has his yellow jumper on while he is talking to Holly -See image right)
Holly: Now coming up shortly on children’s television an exciting time…
T-Shirt: Holly-Anna Jones, I bet she’d help. Hey Holly, down here, behind you, oi, I’ve got to talk to you, Holly please.
Holly: O where was I?
T-Shirt: Holly, I’m sorry but this is urgent!
(Holly is transported into the T-Room/T-Shirt now has his T-Caddy uniform on -See image right)
Holly: I’m sure you’d agree there are a lot of goodies coming up.
T-Shirt: Hi Holly, I’m T-Shirt. Sorry to magic you down here.
Later on in the same scene they look back at the TV screen where T-Shirt has put on the message 'Do not adjust your set' T-Shirt is again wearing his yellow jumper!

The Crystal in Episode 2 The Crystal in Episode 1

The Crystal in Episodes 1 & 2

EPISODE 2: GANGSTERS

"Floor Fiasco"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 9/10 | Type:
Continuity error
This is another mistake caused by the split screen effect. Just before T.Bag appears as the hat-check girl in the police station, Police Chief O'Reilly walks over to the safe to pour himself a coffee. Look at the half open door here (this is what they've used to line up the split screen, so that Elizabeth Estensen can appear the other side of it). However, on the brown wooden floor below, you can see the split-screen wipe being faded in as the colour of the floor suddenly splits in two, with a lighter half appearing, this may down to lighting. When the wipe is taken away, the floor returns to normal.

"Off the Hook"
Contributed by: Rob Keeley
Difficulty: 6/10 | Type:
Production error
When Big Ed finishes talking to the boss about Little Legs Lawson and hangs up the phone, he takes two attempts to get the receiver back on the hook.

"The Crystal Claim"
Contributed by: ?
Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:
Continuity error
Holly claims her crystal back at the end of the second episode but it isn’t the crystal she had in the first episode. This is probably because the episodes were never filmed in order. See the image on the left for the crystal Holly has in the first episode. The crystal Holly claims in the second episode looks very different and can be seen in the image (right).

The Shadow

EPISODE 3: YETI

"Out of a tin"
Contributed by: me
Difficulty: 7/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When Daisy Digwell meets Holly she suggests that Holly stays for tea which is out of a tin, she has a tin opener which she eventually gives to Holly asking 'Oh how are you with one of these contraptions', suggesting that Daisy hasn't used the tin opener herself even though she previously states she's been in the mountains for weeks so what has she used before to open her tins of food (and no they probably didn't have ringpulls on them).

EPISODE 4: BUBBLE BOY

Contributed by: Steve
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Production error
When T-shirt disappears after singing the Bubble Boy song, the view cuts to the wide shot of the studio and you can see the ES of Thames on the side of the camera.

Difficulty: 10/10 | Type:
Production error
When T-Bag and Queen Tallulah of the Nile meet, they refer to each other as 'great, great, great, great.... granddaughter/grandmother'. As this is said so fast it's hard to tell if the right number of 'greats' is used, on slowing down the audio Queen Tallulah says 'great' sixteen times but T-Bag says 'great' seventeen times. Hardly noticeable at normal playback speed but it is there!

"Shadow Spotted"

Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:

At the end of the episode, there is a close-up of T-Shirt unpacking the stack of High-TV Times. At the very bottom-right corner of the screen, you can just see the shadow of a camera as it moves along for a few seconds.

EPISODE 8: THE AFRICAN QUEEN

"Choker"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Continuity error
The first time we see T-Bag and T-Shirt, T-shirt is trying to put his teddy bear under his power. When T-Bag comes in, she is wearing her choker the wrong way around with the bow at the front. This continues through this scene, but in later scenes, she has it the right way around with the bow at the back.

"TV on the blink?"
Contributed by: Me
Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:
Continuity error
After T-Shirt has left her, T-Bag uses her saucer to try to get a picture but it takes a while before she gets to see Doc Leaf in the saucer. Why she didn't use the TV set is a mystery as she's been using that all series to see what's happening anyway!

EPISODE 10: TURN ON TO T-BAG

"This Is It"
Contributed by: superapplefrog
Difficulty: 6/10 | Type:
Production error
Towards the end of the episode just before T-Bag takes to the air she starts her speach and when the camera focuses on Holly and T-Shirt when T-Shirt nods to Holly to start putting the crystals on the jammer you can just hear Elizabeth Estensen whisper the line 'This is it' before repeating it again at normal volume. You can see a clip of this on youtube here, listen out for it at 3:30. This may not be exactly a mistake but is an oddity which is why it makes this list.

"The Switched Switch"
Contributed by: Me
Difficulty: 7/10 | Type:
Continuity error
Near the end of the episode when T. Shirt fixes the jammer with his magic, Holly then puts the crystals on the jammer and gives it to T. Shirt. T. Shirt flips the switch upwards to turn on the jammer but it doesn't work. T. Shirt then flips the switch back and forth several times but stops in the downwards 'off' position. Then when he bangs it the jammer starts to work (even though it is in the 'off' position!)

When T-Bag is singing to Edward, reading him a bedtime story etc, it’s pitch dark outside and Edward has just a single candle beside the bed, yet the room (like the whole house) is brilliantly lit throughout. It’s almost as if there are studio lights up there...

"Eighties party"

Edward seems to be from Edwardian times (appropriately), but there are some very 1980s Christmas decorations on his tree and 1980s crackers at the dinner table.

T. BAG AND THE REVENGE OF THE T-SET

EPISODE 1: THE STONE CIRCLE

"Planned All Along?"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 5/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When T-Bag appears at the beginning of the episode, the High-T Lady says, "Tallulah Bag, the prodigal returns!". T-Bag replies, "I haven't returned, you brought me here!". Later it appears as if T-Bag had planned to be there and use the spoons, rather than being summoned for punishment by the High-T. This is a very complicated plan indeed!

"A Wrong Retrospective"
Contributed by: me
Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:
Continuity error
When T-shirt remembers the ‘good times’ he had with T-Bag he remembers T-Bag as a pirate with Black Hearted Belle but he was never on the ship at that time so how can he remember this?

"Simple Surname Sorcery"
Contributed by: Chris Tyner
Difficulty: 6/10 | Type:
Production error
T-Shirt refers to Sally Simpkins when he says "Sally Simpkins, what do you think you're doing stealing her Majesty's precious spoons?", at the end of the episode T-Bag also calls Sally by her surname when she says "Seek out the spoons, Sally Simpkins, but just remember this my dear, wherever you go, we'll be right behind you!" but throughout the episode Sally doesn't tell anyone her surname.

Alignment After Alignment Before

The Alignment of the circle (Before & After)

"The Perfect Circle"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 9/10 | Type:
Production error
This is perhaps the pickiest of the lot! This mistake is because of the split-screen effect and happens immediately after the scene in the T.Room, where T.Bag, despairing of T.Shirt's failure, says 'hopeless!' It then cuts to a two-shot of Stella and T.Shirt, and then when Stella asks 'where's your fancy friend?' it cuts to a long shot. Elizabeth Estensen is already in the centre of the screen here, between Stella and T.Shirt, and Sally and McCannickle; but there is a screen wipe which conceals her, a locked-off camera having taken a shot of the empty set. However, the shot has not been lined up correctly, so if you look very closely - and I mean very closely! - the shelves are slightly skewed, as is the large black circle on the floor. When the wipe is taken away and T.Bag appears, the picture goes back to normal!

EPISODE 4: TURKISH DELIGHT

"The Shadow Secret"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Production error
Another mistake involving the split-screen effect, you can only really notice it on the video so watch carefully. When Karim first uncorks the lemonade bottle, we cut from a close-up of him, to a mid-two-shot, with Fizz appearing to his left, twirling round. Again, a screen-wipe has been employed to conceal him so that Karim can carry on moving while he appears. However, before he does appear, you can clearly see the shadow of the actor, twirling round, on the table cloth behind him!

EPISODE 5: HAZEL KNUTT'S MUESLI BAR

Contributed by: me
Difficulty: 6/10 | Type:

During the last scene in the Muesli Bar, before T-Bag turns into a young girl, Sally and Herr Krimper walk back into the muesli bar. A short exchange of names, between T-Shirt, Sally and T-Bag, takes place but Sally's line of 'T-Bag' is partially said over T-Shirt's line of 'Sally', there is then a slight pause before Elizabeth Estensen continues the scene with her line of 'Simpkins'.

There is another appearance of the boom-mic! You can see it at the very top of the screen, against the sign which moves round slowly, while Ricky Romero puts his tape into a box and moves round to Sally. Again, it's easier to spot on the actual programme (the television may cut this off again so it is out of the visible footage!)

EPISODE 7: ANASTASIA

"Too Many Silver Spoons"
Contributed by: me
Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:
Continuity error
T-Bag claims Sally has six of the spoons whereas she only has five (a spoon from eps2, 3, 4, 5 and 6)
T-Bag: I've got to find out what that insufferable Sally Simpkins is up to. Do you realise how many of those spoons she’s got already? Six, Six!
T-Shirt: Six, so if she’s found six spoons and there’s eight...
T-Bag: I don’t need you to tell me how many spoons are left. I’m painfully aware of the fact thank you very much. Now just make the tea!

The Invisible Wire

"Cuppa Calculations"
Contributed by: me
Difficulty: 6/10 | Type:
Continuity error
During a scene in the T-Room T-Shirt is calculating how many cups of tea T-Bag has drunk in the time he has known her, starting his calculation with her drinking exactly 32 cups of tea a day, this contradicts T-Bag saying in episode five of Wonders in Letterland that 'you know I need at least 20 cups of tea a day to feed my power and calm my nerves'.

"Troublesome-Trunks"

See the image right, the mic can just be seen at the top of the screen directly above where the door meets the doorway.

"The Gooth Truth"

Difficulty: 7/10 | Type:

In the scene of Wagadagger's play, Ned Bumpkin (played by T-Shirt) comes on and Prince Jack asks him if goose plucking has made him a rich man but he mispronounces the word goose as 'gooth' before correcting himself by saying goose plucking.

T-Bag is alive and well again after being destroyed in Revenge of The T-Set. Without any explanation given whatsoever this must be a continuity error. This book was released in 1990 after Tallulah Bag’s destruction at the end of T-Bag And The Revenge Of The T-Set. Whether this book was set before this is also unclear as Granny Bag mentions Major Happy and we also meet Tabatha Bag at the party in chapter eight.

"Who's Not Done Their Homework?"
Contributed by: Jeremy
Difficulty: 4/10 | Type:
Continuity error
There is a continuity issue in T-Shirt's education. In the first few Tallulah Bag series, reference is often made to T-Shirt doing magic homework, and, during the first series, T-Bag asks him, "How do you expect to grow up to be a good T-Caddy". In this series, however, T-Shirt says, "I spent years at the T-Caddy academy before going to work for Tallulah Bag". This implies that he should have finished his schooling before he joined Tallulah.

There is a plastic dustbin in Victorian London where Constable Clodd hides Lady Ruffle’s Dog, Willoughby. It’s hardly historically correct. All we know for sure is that the nine precious stones are scattered somewhere across time and space, finding them again will be like looking for pickpockets on a nudist beach!
T-Bag: Are what a load of tosh!
T-Shirt: I’m keeping a diary just like Sir Paisley Shirt did, everything that happens I write it down.
T-Bag: You forgot to write Dear Diary today T-Bag clobbered me with a lavoratory brush.

Granny Bag: Of course, yeh it's bin day. Well they can have this (hot water bottle) for a kick off, it leaked all over my Daffy Duck jim-jams.
Granny Bag's pyjamas do not have Daffy Duck on them, they have other animals on them (some of which are ducks - I think) but if they had to black out the 'Kelloggs' Crunchy Nut Cornflakes and call them puff wheat popsicles I would think that Daffy Duck jim-jams would have been a no-go.

"Birthday wishlist"
Contributed by: Jason Ayers
Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:
Continuity error
During this episode T-Bag excitedly lists all of the items that her birthday surprise could be. She includes "The Pearls of Wisdom", but this is odd given that the pearls possessed magical powers which could destroy her and she spent the last episode of Pearls of Wisdom trying to destroy the pearls.

On the 'Planet diagnostic' screen when Tow-Ling is at the computer in the flying saucer the percentage of the gases are listed as: Oxygen 12%, Nitrogen 25%, Hydrogen 8%, Neon 5%, Helium 40%, Zeon 10%, Argon 2% and Dioxide 5%. Which in total is 107%, surely they should only add up to 100%.

"Zeon Gas"

On the 'Planet diagnostic' screen when Tow-Ling is at the computer in the flying saucer there is a gas called 'Zeon', a completely fictitious gaseous element.

When T-Bag and T-Shirt are arguing, after Tow-ling wishes for Liquorice Allsorts, you can see a microphone at the top of the screen (above T-Bag's head in the palm tree foliage) for a second before it pops out of view.
T-Bag: Hours and hours we’ve been traipsing around this (sniffs) foul place and what for? Not even a sausage, not even a party-sized, miniature, cocktail-sticked chipolata; nothing. Oh I’ve had enough.
T-Shirt: Don’t stop yet!
T-Bag: (The micro phone can be seen now, see image left) I wish I’d never had started.

During the credits at the end of the episode the credit for Dr Strange-Bag has the letter 't' missing so he is credited as 'Dr Srange-Bag'. See the image to the left.

EPISODE 6: ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA

"No Clues Is Good News"

Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:

No mention of where the golden envelope is mentioned during the episode, so how did T-Bag, T-Shirt and Tow-Ling get to the next destination?

EPISODE 7: PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

T-Shirt wears his 'Shirty Something' T-Shirt throughout most the episode during scenes in the operahouse but in the first and last scenes in the flying saucer he is wearing the 'Full Metal T-Shirt' T-Shirt.

EPISODE 8: BIN BAG

"Anyone For Coffee?"
Contributed by: Paul
Difficulty: 8/10 | Type:
Production error
You can spot the painted-out coffee table in the shot of Bin Bag's spaceship, this happens just after the flying saucer has been swallowed up. Tow Ling goes out of the saucer door, and T-Bag and T-Shirt fight to get out after him. It then cuts to a slow panning shot of Bin Bag's ship and here you can see the table, this is the scene just before Tow-Ling, T-Shirt and T-Bag are seen boarding Bin-Bag's ship. It's not that easy to spot, but you can certainly see it, it is clearer in the image to the side (the image has been altered to make the 'coffee table' stand out from the black background), it's also (slightly) easier to see in motion, try watching the video clip to the right to see the ship 'sitting' on the coffee table in the panning shot, again this video has been enhanced so the table is more visible from the background.

EPISODE 9: THE RED SHOES

"Rocky Grounds"

When T-Bag, T-Shirt and Tow-ling arrive in Hollywood, T-Bag goes off to make herself 'look even more glamorous than I normally am'. Then T-Shirt turns on the TV and says he has time to watch the films Rocky I, II, III, IV, V, VI and VII. Tow-Ling corrects T-Shirt saying they haven't made a Rocky VII, but he neglects to say they haven't made Rocky VI. The last Rocky film to be made was Rocky V in 1990. T-Shirt said they would have made Rocky VII before T-Bag makes herself glamorous. T-Bag must still be making herself more glamorous now!

In the Garden of Shangri-La when T-Bag tries to get her birthday present and the Empress (Granny Bag in disguise) zaps her backwards, the Empress tells them they are not welcome in Shangri-La when T-Bag says:
T. Bag: I'm not going anywhere until I get my present.
Empress: Present?
T. Bag: That there with my name on it.

The Foil Balloons

The Foil Balloons

It is now when we see the Empress say 'arh arh arrrh' as she realises she is Tabatha Bag that in the bottom-left corner of the screen that a member of the crew can be seen on set behind the birthday present. See the image right for a glimpse of one of the crew.

"Balloons Foiled"
Contributed by: Me
Difficulty: 3/10 | Type:
Production error
At T. Bag's surprise party, back at Chateau Bag, we see Doctor Strangebag (from episode 5), Bagsy Malone (from episode 3) and Sultan Bagwash (From episode 2). Sultan Bagwash is seen infront of some 'foil' balloons but there are none of these balloons throughout the scene in Chateau Bag. These extra clips were filmed in front of balloons during the episodes these cast members appeared in.
